Greedy Roots

Background Story:

Welcome to the world of "Greedy Roots," where trees turn into demons after being injected with greedy fertilizers. With gigantic roots, these trees will excessively absorb nutrients from the land and disrupt the ecological balance. 

The over-consumption of nutrients by those "greedy roots" threatens the survival of you and your tree friends. You, as a tree hero, untouched by greedy fertilizers, determine to defeat those evil "greedy tree" to save the nature.

Gameplay: 

Greedy Root is a 2.5D Top Down Adventure game. Players take on the role of an uninfected coconut tree that moves by pulling out the roots. By rooting into the soil, players can collect nutrients and grow higher. Collected nutrients will be indicated as leaves UI bar in the top left corner. If the roots are pulled out, the tree will keep depleting nutrients, while the leaves UI bar will keep decreasing. If the nutrition is depleted, the player will die.

Players need to wisely and strategically control the height of the tree by stretching out the roots and pulling out the roots. All the combat and puzzle-solving experience are based on the height management. In order to defeat an enemy, the player needs to grow taller than the enemy in order to suck the enemy's nutrients. Otherwise, the player's nutrition will be sucked away by the enemy.

Control: 

"W A S D" to move;  

"Space" to stretch out roots or pull out roots.
